FALL MINI SESSIONS
What is a mini session?
A mini session is a shortened version of the full 1 hour family portrait session. It works great for families looking to update their family portrait and to get some beautiful shots for holiday cards, prints, canvases, or gifts!
What is included in my session?
The mini session includes 20 minutes of shooting time, 5 high resolution digital images, password-protected online viewing gallery, and printing rights for personal use.
Can I order more digital images and products?
Yes! You can order additional digital images or the full gallery of images, prints, canvases, metal prints, and other products directly through your gallery.
What do I need to bring?
Just yourselves! If you would like to add more variety, feel free to bring accessories that can be quickly swapped out like a hat, scarf, sweater, jacket, etc.
How many family members can I include in my mini session?
The session fee includes up to 5 family members. An additional family member may be added to your mini session for $20/person.
How many poses will we have?
The mini session goes by quickly! We'll aim to capture as much as we can in the 20 minute time frame. This usually is enough for a few shots of the entire family, some breakout shots of just the kids, some individuals, and maybe a few candids if there's time. If you would like more variety in poses, more time for candids, and a larger variety of backgrounds, a 1 hour Signature Session may be a better fit.
When should I arrive?
Mini sessions move quickly and are scheduled back to back, so it is important that you arrive at least 10 min early to get the most out of your time slot. Additional time can not be added for late arrivals.
How long after the session should I expect to get my photos?
About 3 weeks after the session I will email you a link to your password-protected online gallery. You can then select your 5 high res digital photos (or purchase additional photos or the full gallery). Once you've made your selections, you will receive your digital images to download and begin creating your holiday cards! Your gallery will remain active for 1 week. There is a $25 fee to extend or re-activate an expired gallery.
Do you save all the photos?
I can not guarantee long term storage of your gallery, so please remember to back up your digital photos to 2 different locations.
Do you touch up the photos?
I edit the photos to my style and standard for things like exposure, white balance, crop, and the like. Additional edits can be purchased for a $25/photo fee (blemish removal, eye enhancing, skin smoothing, etc).
What should we wear?
First and foremost make sure everyone is comfortable in their outfits. Layering clothes (scarves, vests, boots, sweaters/jackets, accessories), coordinating your family's color scheme, and pieces with texture are great for a cohesive and visually appealing ensemble. Look for pieces that don't need a lot of readjusting, especially for the kids (loose suspenders, small tights, etc). After you book, I'll send you more tips and examples.
What if it's bad weather?
Hopefully we will get a beautiful, sun drenched morning! However if it's cold or cloudy, we will still shoot! Plan on bringing layers so you and the kids stay comfortable and ready for anything. If it rains we will not reschedule! We'll move the shoot to an outdoor, covered location.
What if I need to cancel?
I understand that sometimes life intervenes. If an emergency or illness comes up and you are not able to make your session, please let me know as soon as possible. The session fee is non-refundable, but you may apply it to a future session within the next 6 months. Cancellations within 72 hours of the session will incur a $50 re-scheduling fee. Due to the high demand during Fall months, reschedules may not be available for several weeks.
When should I book?
This season is the busiest time of year for family photographers and mini sessions book up quickly! If you would like to book, please do so sooner than later to guarantee yourself a spot.
How do I book?
Before you choose a date and time, please submit the Mini Session Contract (link on booking page). Once you choose your date and time, it will prompt you through the process to book your session.
What happens after I book?
After booking, I will email you location and parking details, a link to a Pinterest board with ideas on what to wear, and general session tips.
